Can stress be lowered?
Most people will try to control their stress but that will only work to a certain degree. We do our best to minimize the stress in our life. To do this, you could write down everything that is happening in your life every day for at least one week. Every time you write something down use a scale from one to ten (ten being the worst) and that number will relate to how much stress you feel. For instance going to work at 8 am can be a stress of 7. Going back to work after lunch can be a 5, knowing the worst day is soon over. Going home after work can a 4, but once at home, you may have a 2. Once that is done you will notice what is conflicting with your nerves. You will also understand why some numbers are higher than others. Your next step could be to manage your stress or to reduce it.
Why endure stress when you can do something about it.
To lower your stress, you might start taking some exercise classes doing a meditation or going for a scroll in the park. But all of these can also cause stress if not done properly. Going to the gym is good but not if you are trying to compete with everyone. Doing meditation for two hours straight is also not good, moderation is the key.
So Reiki and stress is a balance of energy. Even Reiki can not eliminate stress entirely because stress is with us every second of every day. We can only become more alert of when we feel stress so we stop, look within, and take action to reduce the stress. Now to use Reiki at work, use your distance symbol and see it move the bad energy away from your office or cubicle. When you get to work you should feel more positive energy.
When you are about to go into a meeting with your superior(s), start your Reiki but this time have it all around you. Now you are ready to go to the meeting.
There is nothing like going for a coffee on your break, but what if you want to be alone and not be disturbed? Start your long distance symbol and project it for about 5 minutes before you go to the place where you get your coffee and you may wish to send an affirmation such as: “I would like to be alone today when I go to (insert name of destination), I really would like to be left alone”. Now go and see what will happen.
